Self Love

Deep down I sought acceptance. I sought for love in places I knew I couldn't find it.
As I watched the world set a standard, a standard I couldn't meet I did everything possible to meet up.
They'll tell you to be yourself but deep down it's the real you that irks them.
I couldn't tell who I had become, the social media had it's on standards, they thought me to dress, laugh, act and even look in a certain way.
I had never felt the dying need to feel accepted.
I had told myself that I wasn't perfect until I had pleased the world around me.
Deep down it felt wrong but I had finally gotten accepted, I was able to go out receiving self compliments.
I had gotten all I needed, I was finally loved. But deep down I lacked one thing, that which made me satisfied.
I lacked self love.
I knew I had lied to myself.Behind the camera, I was a disturbed child, I hated my new look.
I didn't want to go back to a would where l wasn't accepted, I didn't want to feel that way again.
Was I to end it all? Was I to accept natures gift?
I looked at the person I had to destroy. I beheld the person I had become.
I had allowed the world dictate who I should be, I had destroyed who I was.
What was I to lose if I had my old self back?
Maybe less friends, less attention on social media. But I was going to get the most important person back.
I had myself back.
I fell in love with who I had become, ignoring what the world had to say.
I had self love and that's the best kind of love and acceptance I could ever ask for.

The Feeling We Get

The Feeling We Get

Well, it seems like nothing I do is ever good enough,
But please try to understand that I’m still trying to arrange my stuff,
Might seem cool and immovable, but really it’s all an act to seem tough,
The Elderly say to you do this, do that, but deep within you know that it’s all still rough,
They act all high and mighty, saying we have seen it all, but you know the truth,
you know it’s all a bluff,
But how do I get to arrange this rough stuff in my head,
To neglect this big bluff that I’ve heard,
To learn to be tough, and not pretend,
I want to be good enough, I want this to end,
But really, where would we be without the advice of the elderly,
We would be unwise, taking life so sluggishly,
Losing sight of things that could have been shown us so vividly,
Lackadaisical in thinking, we would do things so foolishly,
A note to the Elderly;
Do not neglect the mind of a curious youth,
Because left on its’ own is as a rotting fruit, lacking very fiber of sooth,
Because the neglected mind of a curious youth, produces a furious youth, who all his life just wanted to know the simple truth,
Nowadays the Elders don’t correct, they reject,
They forgive, but don’t forget,
Because your present goods, are cancelled out by a past event,
And a million good deeds, can be ruled out by a single bad event,
Elders, don’t reject us, because then you EJECT us,
Don’t neglect us, but instead ELECT us,

Because this is THE FEELING WE GET,
We try so hard to impress, but you quickly forget,
You forget so fast, I think you out ran a jet,
It hurts so badly, because it’s THE FEELING WE GET,
We want you to correct us and not reject us, because it’s THE FEELING WE GET,
We try hard to impress, but you try hard to compress, because it’s THE FEELING WE GET,

We love you, and we need you to rise to the top,
We acknowledge you, because without you who have gone ahead, this whole period of youthfulness would be nothing other than a very big flop,

I hope you try to take us in, for this FEELING WE GET, we also want to FORGET.

UNDECIDED

I’ll start off by saying, before writing this article there were a lot of unsettled thoughts and questions I kept asking myself; what if it’s boring? 😱 Would people actually want to read this? 😰 Am I taking a good topic? 😨 Well I don’t seem to care anymore, the best way you could learn is by giving yourself a try, over and over again. I hope who ever reading would get a lot from this, I need you to give every sentence a thought.
I picked this subject because many-a-times we find ourselves in this situation, not certain, having two minds about a particular thing or not having to reach a decision 😣. It sure is awful at such situations but is it really best to leave it undecided? The truth is there’s always an answer to it. If you’re torn out about something it’s either your choices are similar or you’re just too afraid to pick one. When you allow fear govern what you want to do, you’ll find out you remain on the same spot. Ask yourself, ‘what is the probability of success for each option I’m faced with?’  Including holding on for a while or doing nothing? What exactly do I have to lose? Is it really worth it? Building up your self confidence helps, so that even in the midst of whatever anyone says you’ll have your ground. Discuss with a friend, this doesn’t mean the person should choose for you but help you in deciding.
“Indecision is often worse than wrong action.” – Henry Ford. Does it mean wrong decisions are better than indecision? 😒
Well, Nothing last forever, every decision that you take is temporary, it only opens a new door to the next one. You taking a decision will help you know if it’s the wrong one or not, that’s especially when you’re not sure which is which, you learn from your mistakes and how to be better. But when you know it’s a wrong decision, why choose it? 😏
On Christianity, why exactly is it hard to decide to follow Jesus? To some, on reading this you've tuned off, probably no longer interested😟 but you’re set out to gain so much more on His side. There’s this story I heard sometime ago about a man who was trying to decide whether to follow Jesus or the Devil and between them was a fence. He couldn’t make up his mind and thought to himself, well, I’ll stay on the fence. Turns out the fence belongs to the devil😈, and he came to claim it. There are only two options; the good and the bad, you are either on one side or the other, there’s no sitting on the fence.
Make the right choices today!😇

Deep thoughts

I've been thinking a lot lately
About everything and nothing at all.
I've been thinking more about the words that have been said to me and I have said to others.
I've been thinking about how I hurt so many people and elevated people with what I've said and didn't say.
I've been thinking about how many did the same to me.
I've been thinking about how much better our lives would be with one another if we could learn to think of what we say before we say them.
About how easy it is to kill a person a thousand times with just a word.
And how we could give a person hope with just a word also.
How we could put ourselves in trouble and paradise with a word.
How if just maybe we leant to think before we speak not just thinking of ourselves but the person we are talking to we could live together in peace with one another.

Different= Uniqueness???

Everyone wants to be unique, to feel special, different and accepted. No one wants to be just a face in the crowd, we all want to be identified as an individual, different from every other person. But are we really different from everyone?
Are we all the same?
All in the name of being unique, people try to be different in ways no one actually cares about. I see people every day saying stuff like
“I like that hairstyle but I won’t do it because everyone’s doing it”.
When asked the reason for this the immediate response is;
“I want to be unique”
If you think about it, it’s quite a shallow way of defining uniqueness. There’s a fine line between unique and being different. Being different is as simple as wearing a green shirt when others are wearing something else, not unique.
In the bid of trying to be different we tend to alter our uniqueness. Uniqueness goes far deeper than material things. It’s beyond anything made by man.  Uniqueness is in-built. It’s in your personality, your character, the way you think, the way you speak, walk, write, and draw and everything else.  It’s being yourself even if no one gets you, loving yourself just the way you are. It’s who you are that makes you unique.
Take an example; in an apple farm you’ve got a billion trees that produces apples, each tree is unique despite the fact that a million other trees produce the same fruit. Each of them have a different marking  on the bark, a different way in which the roots are planted in the ground. There may be similarities between them all but you can’t find two apple trees that are exactly the same, it’s not possible.
A second instance; our fingerprints are never the same even on one hand.
Why the hell would you fight for something you already have? Just think about it for a minute.
Each and every one of us is unique in our own way. Hearing a statement like “I want to be unique” is just absurd. It’s like hearing a doctor say “I want to be a doctor”
You’ve got a piece of cake, why fight to get it when it’s with you?
You don’t force uniqueness, it’s in you already, and you’re born with it. No one needs to tell you that, you should know that you are unique already.
How would you feel if people only liked you because of your hair or just your shirt or a pen even?
No one would remember you because of what you wear, or what color your hair is. They’d remember you because of the impact you made on them, how you made them feel, your character and personality.
It’s not what you do that makes you special, it’s how you do it.
Your uniqueness is you, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
